The Churchill Group are proud to be celebrating raising over £60,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2022 by taking part in the charity’s “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” campaign for the 13th year running.
Apartment Owners and Colleagues up and down the country took part by hosting coffee mornings, cake sales, bake-off competitions and raffles to help support the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year, raising crucial funds to support people affected by cancer. The Company also donated £5 for every new Customer who attended its Macmillan Coffee Mornings at new developments across the country. Churchill has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has now raised over £660,000 for the charity since 2009.
Gidea Lodge in Romford raised the most for an individual development, with an impressive total of £2,620. Other top fundraisers who deserve a special mention are Greenacres Lodge in Warlingham (£2,023), Concorde Lodge in Filton (£2,012), and Beatrice Lodge in Sittingbourne (£1,425).
These amazing fundraising totals were also match funded by the Churchill Foundation with an additional £1000.00 being added to their totals.
Further funds were also raised through a Grand Prize Draw run by the firm’s own charity, the Churchill Foundation. Colleagues across the country took part for the chance to win an amazing array of prizes donated by some of the Company’s generous Business Partners.
Lisa Sainsbury, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
“We are so grateful for the long-standing commitment of the Churchill group and appreciate the time, effort and generosity that goes into playing a part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The team have impressively put on many different activities to maximise their fundraising efforts for us and the money raised helps us with our vital work to support people affected by cancer.
“Sadly, the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever. At Macmillan, we know how cancer can affect everything. We’re here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.”
Spencer McCarthy, Chairman & CEO of Churchill Retirement Living, added:
“It was great to see everyone taking part once again in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and I’m very proud to have beaten our ambitious £60k fundraising target. These events are a fantastic way to bring our Colleagues, apartment Owners and local communities together whilst raising money for a very deserving cause. I’d like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for helping us to raise such an impressive total yet again this year.”
